The Building Effective Peer Mentoring Programs in Schools\, published by The Mentoring Resource Center & U.S. Department of Education\, identifies positive impacts for mentees including: \n\nConnectedness to school and peers\nFeelings of competency and self-efficacy\nGrades and academic achievement\nProsocial behavior and attitudes\n\nFor mentors\, there have been reported improvements in: \n\nConnectedness to school\nSelf-esteem\nEmpathy and moral reasoning\nIntrapersonal communication and conflict resolution skills\nRelationships with parents\n\nOur URSTRONG Schools who’ve already launched mentorship models consistently report that children feel more comfortable talking to another student\, rather than a teacher\, about their friendship issues. \n

They also learn what trust & respect look like in-action & what happens when mistrust & disrespect seep into a friendship. Using the Friend-o-Meter\, students reflect on the health of their friendships & Friendship Groups. DESCRIPTION:URSTRONG Schools who have implemented the Friend-o-Leader Mentorship Model are invited to have their students attend this live class with Dana (Founder & Friendship Expert). Dana will review some of the expectations of Friend-o-Leaders and answer any questions from students and teachers. \nStudents are expected to have completed the Friend-o-Leader Training video prior to attending this session!  \nNote: Teachers\, please just register yourself and indicate how many students will be in attendance.
