DESCRIPTION:Please note: This is a private workshop for members of the St Gabriel’s Catholic Primary School community.\nThrough interactive parent-child activities\, parents will learn language & strategies to support their child to create healthy\, feel-good friendships. This session will review concepts taught at URSTRONG Schools through our Friendology 101 curriculum to reinforce a common “language of friendship” including: \n\nThe 4 Friendship Facts\nThe Friend-o-Meter\nThe Friend-o-Cycle\nFriendship Fires vs Mean-on-Purpose\n\nParents will also receive access to a free URSTRONG Family membership that includes hundreds of activities\, videos\, and articles that are available to you and your child! \nThis session is for ALL AGES! Dana will be addressing how friendships change & evolve\, providing strategies for all ages. She will explain how the strategies even apply to adults and how she uses the tools in her own life. \nYounger children are invited to bring along a soft toy for role-playing activities and there will be an opportunity to ask Dana questions at the end of the session! \n\nImportant Notes:  \n\nThis session will take place via Zoom. You will receive an email with the zoom details\, along with a reminder email the day of the event. \nA recording of the session will be sent to the school leadership\, but only available for 7 days after the event. \n\n

PSTs will learn URSTRONG’s language\, skills\, and strategies along with the research supporting SEL (social-emotional learning) and evidence behind URSTRONG’s impact in schools globally. \nIn addition to two live classes\, video sessions along with follow-up activities will be assigned that focus on the following topics: \n\nThe Science of Friendships – exploring the science behind social-emotional wellbeing and why friendship skills must be prioritized in schools.\nThe Language of Friendship – a detailed overview of URSTRONG’s core concepts\, including the language and skills that are central to our whole-school friendship strategy.\nFriendology 101 – showing educators how to utilise our curriculum\, Friendology 101\, as a school-wide friendship framework. Educators will learn how to access the curriculum online\, along with hundreds of lesson plans to enhance students’ friendship skills.\nTransforming into a URSTRONG School – guiding educators to craft an implementation plan\, plus review the supporting documents available to URSTRONG Schools.\n\n\n\nImportant Notes for Deakin University Students:\n\nDeakin University students will get access to a trial URSTRONG School Membership to get a sense of what teachers at URSTRONG Schools experience.\nThis training does not include a school license and PSTs are not permitted to use URSTRONG materials at schools who are not members.\nA certificate of completion will be provided to students who submit their sketchnotes\, which serves as the assessment tool & evidence of participation. SUMMARY:Day of Friendship at Lathlain Primary School
DESCRIPTION:URSTRONG’s Day of Friendship includes a variety of student workshops where students will learn the 4 Friendship Facts\, qualities of a great friend\, and how to use the Friend-o-meter to assess healthy versus unhealthy friendships. We will also discuss the importance of standing up for yourself and how to put out Friendship Fires® through an open\, honest conversation. These workshops include a handout with an overview of the key concepts to share with parents. \nFuzzies and Friends (Years 1 & 2) \nThrough fun role-play with teddy bears\, children learn the basics of friendship including the 4 Friendship Facts\, qualities of a GREAT friend\, and how to use the Friend-o-meter to understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy friendships.
