DESCRIPTION:*Note: This is a free session ONLY for educators at URSTRONG Schools*\n\n\nPresented by our Founder\, Dana Kerford and Tyson Greenwood (Director of URSTRONG Schools)\, this webinar will focus on REAL-LIFE SCENARIOS – the practical application of our whole-school friendship strategy.\n\nIn this session\, we will explore a variety of common scenarios and how to use our language and strategies to effectively and efficiently provide support. For example: \n\nYou’re out on supervision and discover a student just threw a rock at another student.\nYou receive an email from a parent saying their child is having trouble making friends.\nYou discover a child crying in the bathroom because their friend won’t let them play.\n\nThis is an interactive session where educators will be invited to share their ideas\, ask questions\, and collaborate. \n  \n\n  \nNOTE: This session will take place at 4pm AEDT (Sydney/Melbourne).

This session will review concepts taught at URSTRONG Schools through our Friendology 101 curriculum to reinforce a common “language of friendship” including: \n\nThe 4 Friendship Facts\nThe Friend-o-Meter\nThe Friend-o-Cycle\nFriendship Fires vs Mean-on-Purpose\n\n\nParents will also receive access to a free URSTRONG Family membership that includes hundreds of activities\, videos\, and articles that are available to you and your child! \nThis session is for ALL AGES! Tyson will be addressing how friendships change & evolve\, providing strategies for all ages. He will explain how the strategies even apply to adults and how he uses the tools in his own life. \nYounger children are invited to bring along a soft toy for role-playing activities and there will be an opportunity to ask Tyson questions at the end of the session!

This includes: \n\nThe 4 Friendship Facts\nThe Friend-o-Meter\nPutting out Friendship Fires® using the Friend-o-Cycle\nMean-on-Purpose moments & Quick Comebacks\n\nThrough role-play and common scenarios\, students put their friendship skills to the test and apply their learning. \n\nFuzzies and Friends (Years 1 & 2) \nThrough fun role-play with teddy bears\, students learn the basics of friendship including The 4 Friendship Facts\, qualities of a Green-Zone Friendship\, and how to use the Friend-o-Meter to reflect on how they’re feeling in their friendships. Students also practice\, step-by-step\, how to put out Friendship Fires® by Talking-it-Out. \nHeart of Friendship (Years 3 & 4) \nThrough fun role-play with teddy bears\, students explore The 4 Friendship Facts & learn the WWW strategy to get strategic in their friendships. Using the Friend-o-Meter\, they reflect on healthy (Green-Zone) and unhealthy (Red-Zone) friendships. Learning the difference between Friendship Fires & Mean-on-Purpose moments\, students practise putting out Friendship Fires® by working their way around the Friend-o-Cycle\, along with when & how to use a Quick Comeback. \nFriendship Fires (Years 5 & 6) \nIn this workshop\, students learn what to expect in their friendships through The 4 Friendship Facts\, applying these ‘truths’ in friendship to their real-life. They also learn what trust & respect look like in-action & what happens when mistrust & disrespect seep into a friendship. Using the Friend-o-Meter\, students reflect on the health of their friendships & Friendship Groups. They learn how to manage conflict (in-person and online)\, exploring the different approaches for responding to Friendship Fires® versus Mean-on-Purpose behaviour. \n
